Who we are

The controller of your personal data is:

Data we collect

• Your details: name, company name and work email, entered on the last step of the survey.
• Survey answers: your 18 multiple-choice answers about your company, such as team size, revenue range and engineering budget range.
• Your report: the report we generate from your answers, the PDF file, and the time your download link was used.
• Processing records: a log of how your report was generated and delivered, including the email address it was sent to.
• Usage events: our own analytics records that you started or completed the survey and that your report was generated, delivered or downloaded. These events carry a random report ID, never your name, email or company name.
• Feedback: if you answer the short feedback question on the confirmation page, your rating and any comment.
• Google Analytics, only if you accept: pages you visit, browser and device details, and the survey start and completion events. Before you accept, nothing is sent to Google. We send Google no name, email or company name.
• Technical data: your IP address and request details, which our hosting provider handles to deliver the site.

We do not ask for code, financial documents or payment details. This app does not subscribe you to a mailing list.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

• To create and email your report. We use your details, answers and report for this because you asked for it (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)). If generation fails, we email your details and the draft to ourselves so we can finish the report by hand.
• To run, secure and improve the service. Processing records, usage events, feedback and technical data help us fix failed reports, prevent abuse and see which parts of the survey work. This is our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).
• Google Analytics. Only with your consent (art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time.

Who processes it for us

• Cloudflare: hosting, the database and file storage that hold your details, answers and report, and the browser service that turns the report into a PDF.
• OpenRouter: sends your company name, survey answers and our calculated metrics to an AI model, which drafts and checks the report text. Your name and email are never sent.
• Resend: delivers the email with your report link.
• Google: Google Analytics, only if you accept.
• Beamer’s own services: our analytics service (usage events) and feedback service (the confirmation page question).

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. The full privacy policy explains how such transfers are protected.

How long we keep it

• Your details, answers, report and processing records: until you ask us to delete them. Email support@beamersoftware.com from the address you used, and we delete them within 90 days of your request.
• Download link: it stops working 30 days after we send it. The PDF itself is kept with your report.
• Google Analytics: event data is kept for 14 months.

Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics is consent-based. Until you choose, and if you decline, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and nothing from this site reaches Google: no cookies, no requests. Only after you accept does the script load and set its cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to tell visits apart. Advertising storage is always denied. If you later withdraw consent, Google Analytics is switched off and we delete its cookies.

Our fonts are served from this site, not from Google Fonts, so loading a page does not contact Google.

We also store these items in your browser’s local storage:

• costreport.analyticsConsent: your analytics choice (“granted” or “declined”), so we do not ask again.
• beamer_analytics_cost-report: usage events that could not be sent yet. It exists only while sending fails, and entries are dropped after 72 hours.

To change your choice,select “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. You can also clear this site’s data in your browser.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, a copy of it, correction, deletion, restriction, or to object to processing based on our legitimate interest. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Poland, that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
